Steps to a Green Mortgage

Below are the areas we have identified in which we cut waste, and have eliminated unnecessary use of our planet's precious resources:

Elimination of the use of paper. The mortgage industry has notoriously used forests of paper. We have digitized our office and all documents are now kept electronically.
Documents are transmitted electronically and not printed out. We only use lenders that allow us to send client loan files electronically. Many lenders still require a "physical" paper file be used when submitting a borrower file for final underwriting. We avoid using these lenders unless absolutely necessary.
Avoid the need for clients to come to our office. With the use of fax and email technology, all documents required for the successful processing of a loan can be sent to us without the need to bring anything in.
All office equipment is Energy Star Compliant. We have made a major investment in new technology. All of our computers, servers, monitors, and other office equipment meet the Energy Star standards.
Reduced the use of artificial light in our offices. We have designed our offices to allow full use of natural light, thus eliminating the need for any artificial light.
